Choosing the right adhesive for installing tiles is very important. Installing tiles can be a complicated process, but with the right adhesive, you can achieve a long-lasting and quality result. In this article, we explore the factors to consider when choosing the adhesive and the different types of adhesive available that Weco has for you.
When you are going to choose the right glue there are several factors to consider:
1. Type of tile : Depending on the type of tile you are installing, you may need a specific adhesive. For example, natural stone tiles may require a different adhesive than ceramic tiles.
2. Installation Area : The installation location can also influence the choice of adhesive. If you are installing tiles in wet areas, such as a bathroom, kitchen or pool, you should consider a waterproof adhesive. If you are installing tiles outdoors, you should consider an adhesive with high flexibility to withstand weather changes.
3. Size and thickness of the slabs : The size and thickness of the slabs to be installed can influence the choice of the correct adhesive. There are adhesives designed to support heavier loads or better adapt to larger slabs.
Weco® specialized glues
For the installation of heavy format slabs we have the W3000 XLF adhesive. Ideal for slabs and stones larger than 24" x 24" and larger than 8 LBS, achieving minimum settlement or "slump" and vertical sliding "sagging". With it you can install marble, glass, mosaics, porcelain, ceramic tiles and natural stones on floors and walls.
If you are installing tiles in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens or submerged in water such as a swimming pool, we have the ideal adhesive. W3000 Zero is ideal because it is designed for installations of low absorption formats and wet or submerged environments. It contains a high level of polymers for better adhesion.
For slab installations on the exterior of your home, we recommend an adhesive with high flexibility and deformability so that it does not break due to climate change. W2000 MAXX is the best adhesive on the market for installations exposed to our tropical climate. This adhesive is perfect because it is designed to withstand outdoor exposure, traffic and vibrations. It is ideal for facades, slab-on-slab installations and on wood.
